Gallery II
I photograph in colour what soothes my inner storms: the sea, the light falling upon a landscape, the silent presence of an animal, the simple beauty of the living world. I do not really seek them out; they come to me in the course of a moment, an emotion, or a sudden sense of wonder. Each image is a refuge, a breath, a way of finding myself again. In these fragments of nature, I discover a deep calm, something greater than myself, a quiet mystery that soothes and reconciles.
Zeeland is, for me, a land of wind, light and silence. Its long beaches, its dunes and its open horizon offer me a place where I can finally breathe. I come here to slow down, to listen to the sea and let myself be carried by its peace. Each photograph is the memory of a moment of calm, a light or a breath that soothes the inner turmoil. There, between sky and water, I simply feel that I belong.
